Carve the cheeks away on either side leaving the
first stages of the nose/lip/chin mound.
With Hitty's child-like profile, her nose, lips, and chin all
thrust out to basically the same extent, as opposed to a more
adult profile where the nose would be more prominent, so it is
very helpful to leave the nose/lip/chin sections mostly connected
down the center of the face as we carve back the cheeks on either
side. This also helps reinforce and protect all three areas until
the very end. Focus in this step on carving the level of the cheeks
back from the nose/lip/chin area, which should begin to be visible
even in profile.
