Christmas Supplement 2002 -------------------------------------------------Volume I Issue I-Supplement

From the desk of Charlotte Hitty...

This is going to have to be a brief note, as I have about fifteen minutes before the Kindergarten students pageant rehearsal, and I still haven't checked with our sewing mistress, Hitty June, to see if the angel costumes are finished. And the donkey! Where am I going to get a donkey at this late notice?

It's a very busy time here at the Ash Grove school. We're trying to get our new building finished so we have more room, but it looks like it may be spring now. Still, we've managed to create quite a holiday atmosphere. The Arts and Crafts Mistress, Hitty Mousie, has come up with a wonderful craft for making candy canes and gingerbread men from Fimo or Sculpy clay, and she shares this pattern with us in our Christmas Supplement. They look wonderful on the Christmas tree in our main hall, and would be special on your tree too.

Here's hoping you and yours have a Merry Christmas!

Enjoy--Charlotte Hitty, Editor

From the desk of Hitty Henrietta…

Well, it's that time again. The time of year when all of people I know start to develop that frantic glint in the eye, and that desperate edge to their voices. Christmas is coming! How will we EVER get everything done in time?

Considering the season, I have a GREAT deal to do in helping Sara, and Charlotte and Julie are caught up in the Christmas rush as well. We knew what to expect of this time of year, so when we planned out our Newsletter Schedule earlier this year we opted to do Christmas supplement, to be followed by a full-sized Mid-Winter issue in 2002. If your family is like ours, there's a lot more quiet time to 'play' in January or February than in December!

We hope you'll enjoy the small Christmas projects offered in this issue of The Practical Hitty, and we'll see you in the New Year!

Come again! Hitty Henrietta, Co-Editor
